The Lady terriers are back and ready to make history!

Hiram, Ohio- The Hiram women’s basketball team is looking to continue the win streak today, with the win against Wooster on Wednesday. The women’s team is looking for a big win against Ohio Wesleyan University at todays game.
            The terriers are 11-8 over all, 4-4 at home and 5-3 on the road. They are also 5-5 in conference. The girls are looking to make history this year. At the game against Wooster, Mercedes Jones recorded her fifth career double-double and the girls pulled out a 61-53 win.
            Today’s opponent, Ohio Wesleyan is currently 3-16 in conference with 2-9 at home and 1-5 on the road. In conference they are 2-8. Their star player the hiram terriers need to be on the look out for his number 11, Megan Kuether who is averaging 19.5 points per game.
            Along with the game today the ladies will be accepting a Musical Award in sportsmanship from the parents of Lauren Hill before tipoff. This is exciting and amazing event that will help with the momentum the girls need to pull out a win today! Come out and support your lady terriers in Price gymnasium at 2 p.m. and to support Lauren Hill and her family. Don’t forget to wear Grey (grey out!)

The Lady Terriers Basketball Team falls 35-49 to Kenyon


The Hiram Womens Basketball game team falls to Kenyon 35-49. Our Hiram Terriers starting line up at todays game consisted of Erica Johnson, Kaylee Shockley , Allison Vannoy, Sierra Day, Mercedes Jones. The lady terriers started the game having a hard time getting points on the board. An impressive two points were scored on the end of the clock by Day, who put up our first score for the girls.
            Both teams struggled to get the ball in the net the first quarter leaving a score of 5-7 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the girls seemed to make more progress on the scoreboard. They made quite a few free throws to help boost the score. However the ladies fall 14-21 at half time to Kenyon.
            Starting for the terriers at the start of the 3rd quarter was Shockley, Jones, Erica Johnson, Day and Vannoy. The girls were back with vengeance this quarter having our first score being Mercedes with a layup making it 16-28 with 4:33 left on the clock. However the ladies still seemed to struggle to get more points up. Both teams turnovers were significant in this game. The terriers boosted up the score to 20-37 kenyon at the end of the 3rd quarter. The girls started to increase their score in the fourth quarter but still seemed to have difficulty with maintaining Kenyon. The lady terriers travel to Wooster on Wednesday and hopefully can pull out a win!   

Womens Basketball, On the rise again!

Hiram, Ohio- The Hiram Women’s Basketball team looks to grab a win going into the game tonight! They have an impressing 10-7 overall and 4-4 in conference. This is one of the best records they’ve had in awhile.  They are 4-3 at home and also 4-3 on the road. The Lady terriers play Kenyon tonight who is 11-6 in conference. With a tough loss to them last year the girls came back and beat them by one point leaving it a 62-61 score. Kaylee Shockley, sophomore hit two free throws and a lay up to win the game.  The girls made history, making it the first time ever beating Kenyon. As a team Hiram is shooting .733 percent from the free throw line, which makes them ranked 38th in the nation.
          
               If the lady terriers can pull out a win tonight it will give the lady terriers a whopping 11-7 overall record. Lets come out and support the girls tonight as the game tip off’s at 1 pm.
